#1 Introduction

We all spend a great deal of time on our careers. Naturally we look for a hopeful career, a career that gives us a sense of hope to persevere, a sense of fulfillment to create, and the joy of having accomplished something worthy in life. We can find this kind of career if we look for it! ...

#2 A Career That Gives Hope

One would think that if we invest our time and effort in our career, it should give something back to us. And this is true. We get back what we put into our career! ...

#3 Our Career Fulfillment and Security is from Within Us!

Often we hear: It is not what you know but whom you know! Although there is some truth to this statement, yet for genuine career fulfillment this is NOT true. We try to persevere, but we cannot help but get caught up in the despair and complaining that people express around us. Yes, it can be dreadful – it makes us angry, keeps us from focusing on our work, and it drags us down! What do we need? Hopeful perseverance! It is not enough to want to persevere and maintain our focus on our job and career. But we also need to do so with hope and not simply grudgingly! ...

#6 Recreating Your Career

Do you sometimes think that you’re in a dead end career? Do you think sometimes that the effort you’re putting in your career just isn’t paying off? Do you sometimes think that what you have is not a career rather it is just a set of tasks or paper pushing? I don’t know of anyone who does not have these doubts! In fact, it may even be healthy to once in a while to consider if these are possibilities. Of course we can run from these thoughts. But in fact, these are signals that it is time to recreate our career and its objectives. ...

#7 Our Career is a Reflection of the Goodness in Us

It is imperative that we share our career aspirations with another person. Without this sharing our career aspirations either remain as unrealistic dreams or lose their visionary inspirational power. It is no surprise that Christ said: “Where two or more are gathered in my name, I am there.” It is during such sharing that our dreams turn into plans and our vision crystallizes. So with whom should we share our career aspirations? In fact, there are a variety of persons with whom we need to share depending on the input we need. Each will be discussed differently. Here we will discuss the family aspect of career planning. ...
