Where would you go to find a potential soul mate and/or to strengthen the relationship with an existing one? Why?
Female Respondents - Where: Why (latest additions is this color font)
Any Armenian social
gathering - B/C
that’s where I think people interact and get to know each other as friends and
acquaintances first. Then they take the next step!
********************************
I don't know - I keep praying, but why? Do you
have any ideas?
***************************
I don't know - Its really hard for women in the
Armenian community. You cann't be aggressive and then you cann't sit back. What
can you do?
***************************
Go to Church: People
who adopt the values of our religious faith are more likely to practice those
values in their lives. A couple must have shared values in order to succeed. So,
if you enjoy smoking & drinking, then go to a bar where you will meet others
who like the same. I maintain that one does not meet quality people at bars. In
fact, I tell men when I meet them: "I do not go to bars!" Nightclubs
are not much better. The Armenian faith sets forth a set of traditional,
spiritually-based values that our people have been using for thousands of years.
Who am I to argue with success?
***************************
Pray to God: God
is in control so why worry. Also it helps you strengthen your path and keeps you
motivated and encouraged.
*********************************
I don't know: So far I am disappointed with
everything. I'll let you know if anything changes.

Male Respondents - Where: Why (latest additions in this color font)
Friends - Friends
are usually made by sharing the same interest.
*********************************
Friends - If I meet
someone through my parents, I will be labeled. There are no Armenians where I
work. I don't go to Church. So God can only send me through friends.
***************************
Family - I don't have any difficulty being
accused of 'mom's boy' if mom can find me a wonderful woman.
***************************
Friends: I am hoping that through friends, I
will meet someone without the pressure I feel at Armenian gatherings, including
the Church.
***************************
I don't know: If I believe in God, maybe I can
say I expect a miracle. If I don't know, I guess I am hoping for something
. . . but I guess the odds are worse than those winning a lottery (If I sound
I've given hope . . . maybe because I have.)
